Using PeacefuLLList

This page documents supported behavior, limitations, and product-data sources for PeacefuLLList.

Offline behavior

Inventory creation, quantity changes, search, expiration D-day counts, conservative readiness calculations, local barcode-cache results, on-device OCR, and previously shared widget data remain available without internet. Optional CloudKit collaboration and remote barcode lookup require connectivity.

30-day widget

Add the PeacefuLLList widget from the iOS widget gallery. Small and medium Home Screen widgets list the nearest expiration dates; the Lock Screen widget shows the nearest D-day and total count. The timeline reevaluates after midnight and the app refreshes its local snapshot after inventory changes.

Readiness estimate

The estimate counts only non-expired, non-zero entries with a measured water volume or calorie value. It divides inventory by 3 liters and 2,000 kcal per person per day, uses whichever resource supports fewer days, and rounds down to full days. Unmeasured entries are not guessed.

Finding an AirTag-associated item

  1. Open the inventory item and note the saved AirTag name.
  2. Open Apple's Find My app.
  3. Choose Items, select that name, then use Play Sound or Find Nearby when available.

PeacefuLLList cannot read an AirTag's location or operate Find My controls.

Product-data sources

Japanese JAN lookup may use Rakuten Product Search and Rakuten Ichiba Item Search through the PeacefuLLList Cloudflare credential-protection endpoint. Global lookup may use Open Food Facts and Open Products Facts. The ordered lookup starts with local and approved community records to avoid unnecessary remote requests.

An unknown product entered manually stays local by default. If the user explicitly enables community submission, it may be sent to a separate CloudKit review queue after the local item is saved. It is not shown to other users until approved. Only the barcode, product name, category, submission time, and pending status are submitted; personal inventory details and photos are excluded.

Report or correct barcode data

If a barcode result has an inaccurate, inappropriate, or abusive product name or category, email [email protected]. Include the barcode, the product data shown, the requested correction or reason for reporting it, and—when available—a reliable public source. Do not send household inventory, storage locations, AirTag details, or personal photos.

The operator reviews each report before changing public data. A verified PeacefuLLList community record may be corrected or removed; pending submissions remain unavailable to public lookup until approved. When the result comes from Rakuten, Open Food Facts, or Open Products Facts, PeacefuLLList cannot edit that provider's database and will identify the source so the correction can be submitted through the provider's own process. A report does not publish a replacement automatically.

Emergency-use boundary

Always follow current instructions from local authorities. PeacefuLLList does not provide emergency alerts, medical advice, evacuation orders, or an assurance that supplies are safe to consume.

Operator and contact

PeacefuLLList is an independent iOS application project and is not affiliated with Rakuten or an emergency authority. For product support, privacy requests, or product-data concerns, email [email protected].
